Doshisha Business School (DBS)

Part of Doshisha University, a prestigious private university located in Kyoto, Doshisha Business School (DBS) has been offering an MBA programme in Japanese since 2004. The two-year English-language Global MBA was inaugurated in 2009 with a mission to "nurture a new generation of conscientious business leaders capable of meeting the challenges of today's global business." The programme has a strong emphasis on sustainable business practices and aims develop management skills and practice based on cosmopolitan values to be found within diversity.

International University of Japan (IUJ) Business School

IUJ Business School, the Graduate School of International Management (GSIM) of IUJ, a public university located in Niigata Prefecture in northern Japan, was set up in 1988 in collaboration with the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College, US. It was the first such US-style business school in Japan and is a leading graduate business school in the region.
The focus of the two-year Global MBA programme is 'the comparative analysis of global issues from a Japan-Asia perspective.' In 2001, IUJ started a one-year E-Business Management Programme with a focus on developing technology and business skills.

Tsukuba University

Tsukuba University is a public university. It has offered an English-language MBA in International Business (MBA-IB) at its Tokyo campus since 2005 with the aim of developing international business management professionals. In addition to the traditional areas of Organizational Management and Business Strategy, the programme addresses the areas of Applied Information and International Adaptability.

Hitotsubashi Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy (ICS)

The Graduate School of ICS at Hitotsubashi University, a public university in Tokyo, is offering an MBA and DBA in International Business Strategy. The programme was the first MBA ever to be offered in English in Japan and boasts flexibility, small class sizes and diversity, as well as partnerships with nine international business schools and 'intellectual alliances' with leading Japanese companies.

Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU)

Located in the city of Beppu, Oita Prefecture, Kyushu, Ritsumeikan APU is a private university offering an English-language MBA programme that integrates the concepts of Western business schools with business cases from Japan and the Asia-Pacific region. It seeks to develop a 'New Style of Management' that applies Western management concepts to the region, focusing on the three issues of Management Reform, Industry Creation/Product Development, and Technology and Innovation.

Kwansei Gakuin University Business School

Kwansei Gakuin University is a prestigious private university with six campuses throughout the Kansai area (Western Japan). The Kwansei Gakuin University Business School (part of the Institute of Business and Accounting) is located in Osaka and offers an English-only MBA programme aimed at international students, new graduates and people with business experience. The programme emphasizes practical training, group work and case studies. There are opportunities for pre-graduation internships as well as exchanges with business schools in North America, Europe and Asia.

Waseda Business School (WBS)

Waseda University is a high-ranking private university located in central Tokyo. The WBS offers full-time English-language MBA and Master of Technology (MOT) programmes. For the MBA, candidates can select a Strategic Management Track or an Entrepreneurship Management Track. The school also offers a Double MBA in partnership with Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, as well as Executive and non-degree (evening) programmes.
